 Team Member Lucy Simpson

Lucy Simpson has worked for BVSD for 16 years, with the last 4 years in IT. Her current role is Budget and E-Rate Coordinator/Office Manager, where she enjoys the challenges. She likes running numbers and trying to project how the budget will be spent. Prior to joining the IT team, she worked in the Office of Curriculum and Instruction as an Executive Assistant, as well as at Eldorado K-8, Ryan Elementary, and Lafayette Elementary schools.

Lucy’s favorite part of her job is working with a great team of people. Because IT supports so many people, naturally the people she works with in IT are also supportive. She enjoys being part of this dynamic environment.

Lucy is one of the most organized people in IT. When asked how she manages to stay so organized, her response was, “I enjoy bringing organization to my job and to the team by designing new processes and creating higher efficiencies. It’s important to incorporate lifelong learning with continuous self-improvement while bringing creativity to everything I do.”

Originally from Utah, Lucy now calls Colorado her home. She moved to Colorado in 1981 and has lived here since. Outside of work, Lucy loves being in the mountains, whether it’s hiking, mountain biking, or camping. Her goal next year is to hike and bike Zion National Park in Utah because it’s stunningly beautiful.
